![]() ![]() ![]() I can use Logic Pro and GarageBand with the cable without issue. Nor can they receive patch banks or patches. All support is greatly appreciated - thank you D-50 This tool lets you convert D-50 SYX files into the D-50 Roland Cloud plugin BIN format. If so, anyone recommend any other connections? Neither Patch Base nor MidiQuest software or SysEx Librarian can send anything to the D50 except for white noise. However, the D-50 was easier to use and implemented what Roland called LA (Linear Arithmetic) Synthesis. Roland released it in 1987 at a time when the Yamaha DX7 was a hot commodity. It was used in a good deal of music produced during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Maybe the midi cable situation is a problem. The original hardware D-50 synth was a very popular 16-voice digital synthesizer. I am told that the E-MU doesn’t work with SYX transfers. I note that my internal midi controller on Mac Pro 2013 Mojave OS can see the D50, using a USB connection to E-MU EX TAB 1x1. Any ideas what this might be or how to stop it? Now, however, every key I press, whether from internal or the card, I'm hearing a click with each stroke IF I have midi cables plugged in, almost as if the click was part of the programming. So I used my Roland OEM card to replace my internal bank of sounds. The old Universal Librarian was OS 9 and long gone. I recently had to replace the battery in my D50 and I lost all my legacy Cesium sounds in internal memory. ![]()
